MCCLAIN TOWERY

After graduating from Auburn University in Civil Engineering, McClain spent a significant portion of his career in land design and development. As a licensed Civil Engineer (TN, AL, GA) and LEED Accredited Professional, he managed a site development team at Gresham, Smith and Partners for 7 years.  His team was in charge of due diligence, site selection, site design, permitting and construction administration. McClain’s projects carried him through the bureaucracy of 17 different states and countless cities, towns and counties.  These agencies required navigation through local building, engineering, traffic/transportation departments as well as environmental agencies, planning commissions, historical commissions, EPA, FAA, and many DOTs.  McClain’s project types included: office, multi-family, mixed-use, healthcare, subdivisions, retail and restaurants.  This experience provided the necessary technical skill set for his transition into real estate development.

In early 2012, McClain started a new real estate development endeavor, Towery Development.  Towery Development focuses on urban core opportunistic real estate development and investment projects.  These projects include multi-family, office, mixed-use and industrial in Nashville urban submarkets such as Hillsboro Village, 12th South, Music Row, 8th Avenue South corridor and SoBro.  Towery Holdings and its subsidiaries have a market cap of approximately $50 million. Concurrently with his new company, McClain pursued a master’s degree from Auburn University in Real Estate Development in early 2012 to compliment his technical skills with business, financial, market analysis, real estate law and securitization skills for real estate.  He graduated in May of 2014 at the top of his class and is a member of the Urban Land Institute and Auburn University Master of Real Estate Development Alumni Advisory Council.

LAND DELEOT

Land Deleot, President of Equitable Property Company, has been active in the Nashville commercial real estate market since 1998, when he joined Eakin and Smith as a leasing agent after having graduated from The University of the South at Sewanee.  For 14 years, he worked with the same group under the following national brokerage platforms: Highwood’s Properties, Cushman and Wakefield, Colliers International, and Cassidy Turley. Under Land’s leadership, Equitable Property Company offers services reminiscent of those corporations, while providing the quality and flexibility found in a boutique commercial real estate firm.

A highly experienced broker, Land oversees leasing responsibilities for over 500,000 square feet of office and retail properties in Middle Tennessee on behalf of third party landlords and partnerships of which he is Principal.  He has represented tenants in the leasing and purchase of over 4 million square feet of office, retail, and medical space in more than 14 states.

Since 2005, he has also been active in developing commercial properties in Middle Tennessee, totaling over 300,000 square feet of office, retail, and industrial space.  Integral to the entire development process, Land’s responsibilities for any given development have included securing third party equity and local bank financing, managing construction and design, establishing effective marketing campaigns, assuring a successful sales or leasing cycle, and maintaining a conscious approach to adaptive reuse. With a hand in developments that represent over $250 million in value, Land and the principals at Equitable Property Company, LLC retain an ownership position in the majority of those properties. Land serves on the board of The Patriot Foundation, which raises college scholarship funds for the children of our military’s wounded and fallen. A Nashville resident since 1998, Land lives with his wife, Laura, and their two boys.

ELLIOT KYLE

As a Nashville native, I’ve seen Nashville transform into one of the South’s most dynamic cities, and it’s been a blast to play a small hand in that transformation. Specialty retail brokerage and development has always been my passion; it’s a delicate mix of upholding traditions and legacies while bringing in new businesses and meeting modern needs. Nashville is the perfect market for this type of real estate and Equitable has given me a platform to work on some really fun projects – 5th and Broadway, Edgehill Village, and Sylvan Supply to name a few.

I’ve also had the good fortune of working with some incredible operators, helping them find their ideal locations: Chef Sean Brock, Shake Shack, BarTaco, LuluLemon, Otaku Ramen, Patagonia, Butcher and Bee, Barista Parlor, NYC-based speakeasy Attaboy, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, CAVA, Strategic Hospitality and more. These clients are part of the fabric of some of the most vibrant neighborhoods across town, anchoring Each Nashville, The Gulch, Green Hills, and the like.

When I’m not working, I spend my time off the clock with my beloved wife and three children. If I can find a free minute, you’ll find me at a show or chasing a golf ball all over the course.
